| York County Trail Plan The York County Rail Trail Authority is partnering with the York County Planning Commission and the York County Parks Department to develop the York County Trail Plan. Funded in part by PA DCNR, the York County Trail Plan will serve as a comprehensive guidebook for the development of trails and pathways across the County that provide facilities for non-motorized travel, health and fitness activities, outdoor recreation, connections and generally promote mobility. | Trail News - Fall/Winter 2009 - 2010 When you think of the Heritage Rail Trail, generally you think of a pleasant place to have an afternoon bike ride with the family, or a morning run, or just a quiet place to enjoy nature and take a walk. People on the trail are enjoying the moment and, as members of the Rail Trail Authority like to say, “It becomes the friendliest place in York County.” Often, however, we don’t think about another value of the Rail Trail System in York County—that trails connect people with places and those places with other places.
