The York County Rail Trail Authority is a volunteer organization.

The York County Rail Trail Authority is organized under the Pennsylvania Municipality Authorities Act of 1945. Contributions are used exclusively for the development of public trails and, as such, may be fully tax deductible pursuant to the Internal Revenue Code. Small business and corporate support is vital to advancing our trail development projects.  Business owners can encourage employee walking clubs, organize workplace health fairs, provide matching funds for employee donations, and make corporate donations to support trail development.

Citizens can advocate for trail development within their communities by attending their municipal meetings and speaking to elected officials about the benefits of trails.

Internships are available for college students majoring in related fields such as geography, parks & recreation, landscape architecture, public relations and marketing.   Students are offered a variety of experiences related to trail development as well as skills to prepare them for the workplace.
